One Big Union For ALL Workers
Time: 7:00 pm
The Edmonton Branch of the Industrial Workers of the World will be hosting a panel discussion on organizing workers in the sex industry. Featured guest speaker will be Maxine Doogan, founder and president of the Erotic Service Providers Union (ESPU) in San Francisco, who has been an outspoken activist for the rights of workers in the sex industry for many years. The event is free and child care, snacks, and refreshments will be provided at no cost. This event is co-sponsored by the Student Worker Action Group (SWAG) and the University of Alberta Women's Centre.

May Day March and Community Drum Circle
Time: 5:00 pm
The May Day March will creatively explore the overall theme of May this year which is past, present and future: from 1919 to beyond. The theme was chosen to commemorate the labour struggles that took place during the economic depression of 1919 and examining and connecting current struggles as we live in a year of both economic boom and economic slow down.

May Week Labour Cabaret Night
Time: 7:00 pm
The Annual Labour Cabaret is an evening of celebration of May Day and brings together incredible local musicians who are playing an important role in social justice struggles and who are in solidarity with workers around the world. This year will include performances by the very popular Peoples Poets who have just released their first album and Aroot’s Bazaar- a quartet who entertain with high energy latin and eastern music. Rh’ena Oake from the Canadian Labour Congress will be the MC.

The video ballad GWG: Piece by Piece is a 60‐minute musical multimedia piece depicting the experiences of immigrant women who worked in Edmonton’s GWG clothing factory over its 93 year history.
